Adaptogens

Adaptogens are natural substances, often derived from herbs and roots, that are believed to enhance the body’s resilience to stress and promote overall balance.

Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine as an adaptogen to help the body manage stress. Ashwagandha is believed to improve energy levels, reduce anxiety, and support overall well-being.

Brain Fog

Brain Fog is a term used to describe a collection of symptoms that affect cognitive function, including difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, mental fatigue, and a general sense of sluggishness. It can be caused by various factors such as lack of sleep, stress, poor nutrition, hormonal changes, or underlying health conditions.

Brain-Gut Axis

The Brain-Gut Axis is the bidirectional communication system between the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. This connection involves neural, hormonal, and immune pathways, and plays a significant role in regulating digestion, mood, and overall health.

Clean Ingredients

Clean Ingredients are minimally processed, natural components free from artificial additives, preservatives, and synthetic substances. Foods labeled with clean ingredients typically have simple, recognizable components that promote health and wellness.

Coconut Nectar

Coconut Nectar is a natural sweetener derived from the sap of coconut blossoms. It has a low glycemic index and contains traces of vitamins and minerals, making it a popular alternative to processed sugars.

Cortisol

Cortisol, "the stress hormone", plays a crucial role in regulating your body's response to stress, metabolism, inflammation, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. Constantly high levels of cortisol can lead to weight gain, high blood pressure, suppressed immune function, and increased risk of anxiety, depression, and cognitive impairment.

Digestive Health

Digestive Health refers to the proper functioning of the digestive system, which includes the breakdown of food into nutrients that the body can absorb and use for energy, growth, and cell repair. Good digestive health is supported by a balanced diet, adequate fiber intake, hydration, and regular physical activity.

Essential Amino Acids (EAA's)

Essential Amino Acids (EAA's) are amino acids that your body cannot produce on its own and must be obtained through your diet. There are nine EAAs, and they are crucial for building and repairing tissues, producing enzymes and hormones, and supporting overall health. Getting enough EAAs is important for muscle recovery, immune function, and metabolic health.

Our bars are made from pea protein and faba bean isolates. Both faba bean and pea protein isolates contain all nine essential amino acids, making them complete proteins. This means that by consuming our bars, you can effectively support your body's needs for muscle repair, recovery, and overall health.

Fibers

Fibers are indigestible parts of plant foods that aid in digestion. They help regulate the body's use of sugars, keeping hunger and blood sugar in check. There are two types: soluble fiber, which dissolves in water, and insoluble fiber, which does not.

Functional Food

Functional Foods are foods that provide health benefits beyond basic nutrition. They can include fortified foods, such as orange juice with added calcium, or naturally nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. These foods can help prevent nutrient deficiencies and promote overall health.

Gluten

Gluten is a group of proteins present in wheat, barley, and rye. While it is generally safe for most individuals, those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity should avoid it. Common symptoms of gluten intolerance include digestive issues, fatigue, skin reactions, and neurological symptoms such as headaches and brain fog.

Gut Microbiome

The Gut Microbiome refers to the trillions of microorganisms living in your digestive tract. These microbes play a crucial role in digestion, immune function, and overall health. A healthy gut microbiome is associated with better digestion, improved immunity, and even mental health benefits.

KSM-66 (Ashwagandha)

Each of our bars contains 300mg of Ashwagandha KSM-66. This is a specific, patented form of Ashwagandha extract that is well-regarded for its unique properties and high potency. It is a full-spectrum extract, meaning it retains the balance of various natural constituents found in the original herb. It has one of the highest concentration levels of withanolides, which are considered the active compounds responsible for many of Ashwagandha’s health benefits.

Lecithin (Sunflower)

Sunflower Lecithin is a natural emulsifier extracted from sunflower seeds. It stabilizes food products, enhances texture, and helps blend ingredients like oil and water. Commonly found in chocolate, baked goods, and supplements, it contains phospholipids and essential fatty acids beneficial for heart and brain health.

++ Not to be confused with Sunflower Oil ++

Sunflower Oil is derived from sunflower seeds and used mainly as a cooking oil due to its mild flavour and high smoke point.

Both come from sunflowers, but lecithin acts as an emulsifier, whereas sunflower oil is used for cooking. Lecithin's role in food stabilization differs from sunflower oil's culinary uses and fat content.

Low Glycemic

Low Glycemic refers to foods that have a low glycemic index (GI), which measures how quickly foods raise blood sugar levels. Low glycemic foods are digested and absorbed more slowly, leading to a gradual rise in blood sugar. This can help with weight management and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Macros

Macros, short for macronutrients, are the three main nutrients your body needs in large amounts: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Each plays a vital role in providing energy, building and repairing tissues, and supporting overall bodily functions.

Maca Root

Maca Root has been used for thousands of years as a food and traditional medicine. Maca root is known for its potential benefits in boosting energy, enhancing libido, and improving mood. Each of our bars contains 500mg of Maca Root.

Mental Clarity

Mental Clarity is a state of mind where you are focused, and your thoughts are clear and organized often supported by proper nutrition and adaptogens. Achieving mental clarity can help you make better decisions, and improve productivity.

Monk Fruit

Monk Fruit is a small green melon which is used as a natural sweetener because its extract is much sweeter than sugar but contains no calories or carbs. It's a popular choice for those looking to reduce sugar intake without sacrificing sweetness.

Net Carbs

Net Carbs are the carbohydrates in food that are calculated by subtracting fiber and certain sugar alcohols from the total carbohydrates. This is because fiber and some sugar alcohols don't significantly impact blood sugar levels. Understanding net carbs is useful for managing blood sugar, supporting weight management, and maintaining energy levels.

Nootropics

Nootropics, also known as "cognitive enhancers", are substances that may improve cognitive functions such as memory, creativity, and focus. Examples include caffeine, L-theanine, creatine, and Rhodiola Rosea, all of which may enhance memory, creativity, and focus.

Prebiotics

Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that feed beneficial bacteria in your gut. They help improve gut health by promoting the growth of these good bacteria, which can enhance digestion and boost your immune system.

Probiotics

Probiotics are live microorganisms that provide health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts. They are often found in fermented foods and they help maintain a healthy balance of gut bacteria. Each ampedbar contains 1 billion CFU of Bacillus Coagulans to support your digestive health.

Sugar Alcohols

Sugar Alcohols (such as Xylitol, Erythritol, Maltitol) are a type of carbohydrate used as low-calorie sweeteners. They are found naturally in some fruits and vegetables but are often manufactured for use in processed foods. Sugar alcohols provide sweetness without the same impact on blood sugar levels as regular sugar. Consuming large amounts of sugar alcohols can cause gastrointestinal issues such as gas, bloating, and diarrhea.

Sustained Energy

Sustained Energy from protein bars refers to the steady release of energy over time, which helps maintain stamina and prevent energy crashes. Protein bars achieve this by providing a balanced mix of protein, carbohydrates, and fats that are slowly digested and absorbed.
